HIS ROD—OUR CHOICE
You came to this earth, my sins to forgive
It matters not, of where I live,
Or who I am or what I do,
Or what color my skin, for I belong to you.
You wouldn’t have asked, before you died for me,
Where I was born, or of whose family tree,
You simply ask, that my faith be strong,
And that you be the God, for whom I long.
Where you walked this earth, you taught mankind,
How love for one another, brings peace of mind,
And how building up walls, stone upon stone,
Cries louder than words, leave us alone,
But alone we can’t be; For that’s not in your plan,
We can’t isolate ourselves,
And still love our fellow man.
You tore down the wall,
That separated us from God,
Now will we tear down our walls,
Or will you have to, by using Your rod?
